FOUR NIGHTS, FIVE DAYS

Our long weekend under the stars is based at one of the park’s many campsites that are only accessible by water. We have three campsites reserved on a thin strip of land between Sand Point and Mukooda Lake to strike the balance between community and privacy. As these are boat-in sites only, you have a few options for your tent + sleeping arrangements, all of which we will provide for you.

Your sleeping options:

The Vintage Eureka (x2) - this tent “sleeps four” — but not the way we do it! We’ll set it up with either a queen air mattress + linen sheets or two twin cots with memory foam padding + organic cotton sheets. Talk about glamping! We have two of these guys — and the ability to do both as a queen or one queen and one twin double configuration.

The BIG Big Agnes - this tent “sleeps six” — but again, that’s too crampy for our style. We can set you up like true royalty with a queen air mattress + linen sheets to support two, or configure for three or four with two queens or a queen and cot (or two), just like above!

The solo Big Agnes - this little guy is a “two person” tent — but you guessed it, not our way! If you’re looking for a solo adventure, we can set this up for you with a sleeping pad and cozy bedding for your own private oasis.

The adventurous hammock - feeling like leaning a bit more toward the wild side? Opt to sleep under the stars in ENO’s double nest hammock, complete with a sleeping bag + pad, bug net, and rain fly system to keep off any overnight showers!

MN’S ONLY NATIONAL PARK

Since there are no roads to our campsite, you’ll instead drive to the small town of Crane Lake, MN and leave your car there. We will transport you and your clothes + necessities via boat to our base for the weekend! Parking will most likely be at a public boat launch/landing, but we are still finalizing this detail and will let you know as soon as we do!

Voyageurs National Park is the only National Park in Minnesota and is entirely navigable by water and over wild land — you cannot drive through it at all. Prepare for a weekend off-grid to unwind and recharge.

HUNTERS + GATHERERS

There are two paths for this retreat that honor the traditional roles some of our ancestors held: the path of the hunter and the path of the gatherer. Hunters: you’ll learn how to set a snare and have the chance to embark on a guided fishing trip with Voyageurs Guide Service* (hosted by Alyssa’s cousin, Michael, who grew up in Voyageurs!). I asked him recently if he has ever had a trip where no fish were caught; “in all my years, never” he said. Pretty much as close to a guarantee as you can get! Gatherers: we will revel in wild blueberry season (which should be in full swing when we are there!), learn to make wild blueberry preserves, and meet several other native plants with medicinal and nutritious properties.

*the fishing trip is an additional cost to be split by all who embark upon it.

TL;DR

Honestly, there is so much we have included. Check below to see it all, but here’s the nuts + bolts of it:

meals, boat rental +gas (for five days), guide service and navigation, morning yoga, evening sound baths, survival skills, hiking, cliff jumping, and more! There’s also an optional guided fishing trip (additional cost - see below).

PRICING

Total investment for this 4-night, 5-day all-inclusive retreat is $2100. Members get $100 off, and repeat retreaters do too! (if you’re both, I love you dearly, but I can only give you the $100 off once to cover our costs adequately). A $500 nonrefundable deposit secures your spot, and you have the option to pay in full or set up a payment plan. If you choose the latter option, I will reach out to set it up. Total balance must be paid in full by 6/30.
